32. Accounting and Projecting you past into your future.

“Most people live in fear because we project our past into the future” – Save The Last Dance Season 1 Episode 10

MJ dropped BARS!!! A downfall of people can be they are thinking of failure first, Michael didn’t allow things he could not control to get into his head.

“Why would I worry about missing a shot I have not taken yet”.

It is 100% possible for you to go into one job and it not go well; only for you to go into another job, with the same, if not more responsibilities and flourish!

A bad work experience does not mean you cannot do the job, letting one bad situation become the new way you define yourself, is unfairly harsh.

I have seen senior level people, be forced to resign; just to walk into another role at the same level.

It happens, it does not mean you are a failure, it does not mean you can’t do it, it’s a bad experience, learn from it and move on.

In the last dance they spoke of a ritual they did to let things go, you write out your feelings, read it out loud and burn it, burning away the plague of this memory.

Beautiful, simple and effective, maybe a painful career memory you have could do with this treatment.

You learn a lot in life through mistakes and bad experiences, which might explain why both scenarios are unavoidable, they are an important part of your development as a person.

Accepting things may go wrong and chalking it up to a bad game, will stop you projecting the negatives of your past into your bright future.
