If you advertise without salary, you support wage discrimination

In the age of ESG ratings, accountability, gender diversity quotas, inclusion photographs, gender pay gap reports, mental health awareness and of course supposedly improved ethical and moral behaviour from employers and employees alike.

Companies laughable will preach how noble they are, whilst still hiding salaries, it’s weird. The only reason I’ve known for companies to hide salaries, is that they hope to be able to pay candidates a lower salary than the one that’s budgeted, that’s it.

The fact that the practice continues today is laughable, companies are really out here fighting tooth and nail not to disclose the salaries for no good reason.

To make it worse, the companies won’t share salary details with you, but have no issue asking your salary or ‘expectations’.

They have no problem with wasting a candidates time and rejecting candidates if the salary they state is out of their range but they never tell the candidate why or worse, smile ear to ear, if the salary is below their budget.

The easiest way to fix wage equality, is to remove the secrecy behind wages, if a company is still hiding wages, it can easily lead to someone who is not as strong at negotiating being paid less, the only reason to hide wages is because deep down, you support wage discrimination.
