There is nothing wrong, with liking money

I had included this rant in another post, but upon reflect, I decided to give this rant it’s own post.

A Rant:
One of the things I hate about British and culture is the despicable, repulsive, hypocritical and BS act of pretending we aren’t at work for money, it GRATES me!

Money is a tool, it’s a tool that you require to survive, the world is cruel to those without money and favourable to those with it.

People on good wages acting like money and the lifestyle that comes with it, is not an incentive, is despicable, telling people who are trying to survive that you should chase a “higher purpose”, “meaning” and whatever other BS they tell you, to hide the fact they like money, just like everyone else is insane.

This behaviour has helped develop wage secrecy, where we try to hide our incomes and our financial ambitions and talk about ‘The challenge’.
With costs sky rocketing in utility bills, food shopping and rents, pushing many households into further debt, just to get by, I assure you, “The F*****g challenge” is last thing on most normal peoples mind.
People are landing in 30k+ debt to get a degrees, in some cases at least doubling that amount, to get a MBA, why? not to increase career prospects and get a higher income, no no no.
It’s to network, get a deeper understanding of a subject and complete “the challenge”.
Do you see how ridiculous that sounds, in a world full of struggling people?

We need to be comfortable and open in admitting that money is an incentive and doing something for the money is not immoral, it is morally right, practically right and down right sensible.

Sometimes I think there is a plot to make people think that poverty is superior to wealth, I remember in school, the heavy pushing of “Money can’t buy you happiness”, it was often said by people who either have little money or even worse, have loads but would never give it up.

The fact is, liking money is perfectly normal, if you like to struggle with finances, live a restricted life, fair enough, but this is not the standard.
The money can’t buy you happiness talk is cool, until you realise poverty doesn’t bring you happiness either, I would rather be miserable and comfortable than miserable and broke.

If you are around people who make you feel liking money is evil, they are the problem.

Rant over.
